Competition · K-Cup
Alongside the KFAM International Youth Cup, KFAM also organizes K-Cup — a premier 6-a-side football tournament for adult teams, built for a faster, more physical style of competitive football than the youth game.
K-Cup runs across two divisions — YB (Young Boys) and OB (Old Boys) — bringing together 19 teams in total, from academy-affiliated sides to long-running amateur clubs with their own supporter base and history.
The 6-a-side format strips the game down to its essentials: 6 players a side including the goalkeeper, no offside, unlimited rolling substitutions, and matches decided over a straight 18–20 minutes with no half-time. Sliding tackles are strictly prohibited, with a 2-minute sin-bin for the offence, keeping the format fast without turning physical.
It's a structure built for intensity rather than endurance — closer to futsal's pace than an 11-a-side match, but still played outdoors on a full-size ball with real goals and real stakes.
The YB division brings together sides like La Masia, Makkah FC, Boleh Warriors and DO8 FC, while the OB division runs a separate competition for more experienced sides including Grasshoppers, UK Old Boys and Minzoku Lions. Both divisions culminate in their own final and third-place match, with penalties deciding any tie after full time.
The complete team list for both divisions, along with the full rules and a downloadable rulebook, is available on the K-Cup tournament page.
K-Cup and the KFAM International Youth Cup run under the same banner for a reason — creating competitive platforms for players at every level, from first-time U8 youth players to seasoned adult sides, and strengthening football connections across Malaysia and the wider region in the process.
